How long can a Dowry case go on for? What would be the costs involved?
In India generally, cases go on for years and decades because of the overburdened judiciary system. This is one of the primary reasons leading the litigants to bear huge expenses.
With respect to the Dowry cases, the duration and costs involved depend on the following:-
- They generally go on for three to five years or more. In some cases, it can also take up to 10 years for a case to be finally decided.
- The costs which would be incurred by the litigant would depend on the longevity of the case and the fees of the lawyer who will represent the case.
